PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT SURVEYOR

We’re seeking a junior level Surveyor to join our team based in Lutterworth, Leicestershire.

The Role:

Our Planning and Development team is well-established and has a strong track record, completing some of the Midlands most high-profile transactions now occupied by Jaguar Land Rover, Aldi and DPD as well as deals with national housebuilders and private estates. Due to sustained business growth, we’re now looking for a junior level Surveyor to join the team based in Lutterworth, Leicestershire.

You will be mentored and trained by our Directors, not only gaining unrivalled access to their in-depth local knowledge and specialist experience but also enabling rapid career progression. You will work closely with our clients to manage existing instructions, develop new relationships and can expect to undertake the full suite of Planning & Development services as well as advancing your wider experience supporting related areas of the business. Full training for RICS APC candidates is included.

Typical Duties include:

  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with existing and prospective clients
  • Assisting securing new instructions, including preparing fee proposals
  • Marketing and disposal of land and property (with and without planning permission)
  • Advising on the potential of land for development by undertaking Site/Property appraisals and identifying any planning, technical or legal issues
  • Negotiating option, promotion and hybrid agreements for strategic land
  • Advising on the sale of land under option agreements, release of restrictive covenants, etc
  • Liaising and working closely with the commercial agency team
  • Preparation of valuations for all purposes

The successful candidate will have:

  • RICS approved degree and/or experience in either a planning and development, housebuilding or strategic land team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Drive and ambition to succeed
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent time/work management skills, including working to deadline
  • Good understanding of the regional Planning & Development market

Hours:                  Permanent full-time (37.5 hours per week), Monday - Friday

Salary:                 Competitive (depending on experience), benefits and discretionary bonus scheme
