PLANNING PERMISSION SECURED FOR FOUR NEW INDUSTRIAL UNITS

25 November 2021

Four new light industrial units will be built at The Farm, Sharnford after planning permission was granted by Blaby District Council.

On behalf of John Brindley Transport, we submitted an application to construct an additional 20,000 sq ft industrial/storage/distribution space at the firm’s existing commercial complex in the Leicestershire village.

“The pandemic has resulted in a significant demand for medium and long term storage facilities or distribution centres where goods can be stockpiled,” explains our director, Andrew McFarlane Holt. “Both our client and The Farm’s other commercial tenants have quickly realised a need for additional space, so the decision was taken to repurpose existing hardstanding storage areas and construct four brand new units, enabling existing and new businesses to operate from the site.”

To minimise any aesthetic impact, the four new units have been designed as identical to existing buildings on the development. Each is 5,000 sq ft with a linked, portal frame structure. Construction is expected to begin early next year.
