A new government report identifies 187,180 new homes will need to be built in Leicestershire by 2050, 33,840 of them by 2031, as part of a drive to tackle the national housing shortage. Areas surrounding Lutterworth, Coalville, Hinckley, and Market Harborough have all been identified as areas for managed growth in local plans and Melton Mowbray identified as a key centre for regeneration and growth.
