Andrew McFarlane Holt

Andrew graduated from Harper Adams University in 1995 with an Honours Degree in Rural Enterprise and Land Management. On graduating, Andrew joined a rural practice firm of Chartered Surveyors in Cambridgeshire where he specialised in rural property matters. After qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor in 1997 he become a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers. In 2000 Andrew became an Associate in the business, before returning to the Midlands where he joined a national firm of Chartered Surveyors as an Associate specialising in commercial property matters. Andrew is a RICS registered valuer and, together with his co-director Trevor, Andrew set up Wells McFarlane in February 2004.

Trevor graduated from Harper Adams University in 1995 with an Honours Degree in Rural Enterprise and Land Management and then joined the Valuation Office for 12 months as a Capital Gains and Inheritance Tax Valuer. Trevor then joined a Leicester firm of Chartered Surveyors and undertook a broad spectrum of work prior to qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor in 1997. He became a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers in 1999 and received the Midland Counties prize for the highest examination results. Trevor then joined a national firm of Chartered Surveyors in Leicestershire as an Associate and pursued a specialism in planning and development related issues and the sale and acquisition of development land. With his co-director Andrew, Trevor set up Wells McFarlane in February 2004. In February 2009, Trevor was elected as President of The Midland Counties Agricultural Valuers Association. Trevor is a RICS Registered Valuer.

Jason graduated from De Montfort University in 2000 with an Honours Degree in Land Management. On graduating Jason joined Bidwells Property consultants in Northampton before moving back to Leicestershire and most recently specialising in commercial property matters working for a national firm of Chartered Surveyors.

Jason has been actively involved within the property industry for over 15 years, gaining significant experience in both commercial and residential markets including; agency, valuation, telecoms, compulsory purchase and compensation within the East Midlands region.

Outside work, Jason and his wife live in south east Leicestershire. Jason is a keen golfer and has represented club and county since returning to amateur status following a number of successful years on the professional circuit. Competitive by nature, he enjoys most sports and a meal out with friends.

Lee Whitehill

Lee joined as Wells McFarlane’s Head of Accounts in March 2022 where he is responsible for the full accounts function from managing company, client and tenant accounts to invoicing, forecasting and budgeting. Lee has 25 years’ accounting experience in legal, property and farming sectors and is a VAT specialist. Outside of work, Lee plays darts in two local leagues and is the Market Harborough League Secretary. He also enjoys running and has completed several half marathons.

Abigail re-joined the Wells McFarlane team in 2020 as Head of Accounts following the completion of her ACCA qualification to become a fully qualified Chartered Accountant. Abigail has full responsibility for the firm’s entire accounts function, from managing company, client and tenant accounts to invoicing, forecasting and budgeting. Away from work, Abi has three young children and enjoys spending her free time on family activities and adventures.

Promoted in January 2019 to Asset Manager, Tina joined Wells McFarlane in June 2017 to provide administrative and marketing support to the commercial team, quickly establishing herself as a key member of the commercial team and bringing a wealth of experience from a previous Administrative Project Manager role for an engineering firm. Prior to this role, Tina spent seven years at the Head Office of travel company, TUI-UK, assisting in the management of all of the firm’s UK retail shops. Outside of work, Tina enjoys walking her dog as well as horse riding and competing at equestrian events.

Chrissy is an Associate RICS and joined the Wells McFarlane team as Commercial Asset Manager in November 2021. Working alongside Directors, Jason Hercock and Andrew McFarlane Holt, Chrissy will oversee management of the firm’s commercial properties. Chrissy’s background includes 15 years working in residential lettings before retraining as a Surveyor to further challenge her property knowledge. Away from work, Chrissy’s interests include photography and salsa dancing.

Beata (Bea) became part of the Wells McFarlane team in November 2021, when she was appointed as the firm’s new Management Accountant. Bea will support Head of Accounts, Lee Whitehill by managing the portfolio of landlord and tenant accounts and is also currently studying to complete her Accounting (AAT) qualifications. When not at work, Bea can be found hiking with a group of friends, the self-titled, “Four Mountaineers”. Together they’ve climbed in the Peak District and Snowdonia and have aspirations to complete Mount Everest!

Jenny joined Wells McFarlane in January 2018 as Personal Assistant to the Directors working alongside Andrew McFarlane Holt and Trevor Wells. After finishing her education, Jenny worked for Barclays Bank Plc but took a career break to raise her two sons. Jenny is highly organised and has over thirteen years’ experience working as a Personal Assistant for an Insolvency company and latterly for a Tax Consultancy. Outside of work, Jenny enjoys spending time with her family, baking, visiting new places and walking.

Laura joined Wells McFarlane in February 2019 as a PA supporting the commercial team and working alongside Jason Hercock.

After completing her education Laura worked as a PA at a law firm specialising in construction and then as a PA at a consultancy firm, with a strong background in administration Laura is highly organised and experienced having also previously worked for a residential lettings and management company.

Outside of work Laura is busy renovating her new Victorian home and combines this love with finding new places to eat out before working it all off with hot yoga and running sessions!

Natalie is a qualified PR practitioner with 17 years specialist experience in property, development and construction. Natalie joined the Wells McFarlane team in September 2020 to raise the profile of the firm across the East and West Midlands through targeted PR, awards, social media and website content. Natalie is working alongside the firm’s Directors to share deals and industry news, company achievements and charity support. Outside of work, Natalie is a sports fan, especially American football, basketball and rugby union. Natalie’s other interests include theatre, reading, cooking and travelling.
