AWARD WIN FOR BROADNOOK GARDEN VILLAGE LAND DEAL

21 September 2022

Leading regional magazine, East Midlands Business Link has rewarded our work on the complex land sale that will create Broadnook Garden Village as “Deal of the Year” in the 2022 Bricks Awards.

Held last week at Trent Bridge Cricket Ground, the Bricks Awards brought together professionals from across the East Midlands business community to recognise the outstanding work of those behind the changing landscape of the Midlands. The deal to create Broadnook Garden Village involved the sale of circa 460 acres of land to Davidsons Homes and Barwood Homes, and was completed in partnership with Newton LDP and APB.

Speaking after receiving the award, our Director, Trevor Wells said: “For Wells McFarlane, this deal involved more than a decade of work, requiring extensive collaboration and detailed local knowledge to navigate its numerous complexities. The sale completed in July this year and will allow for the creation of an entirely new community comprising homes, businesses, a primary school, leisure facilities and natural open space. It’s fantastic news that our years of hard work are now recognised as the East Midlands’ most significant deal of 2022.”

Included in Charnwood Borough Council’s local plan, the Broadnook Garden Village development will comprise 1,950 homes (including 319 affordable), 15 hectares of employment land, a local centre with supermarket and community facilities, a primary school, assisted living retirement village comprising 175 homes and a 70-bed care home, sports facilities, natural open spaces, play areas, allotments, cycle routes and footpaths.
