One of Market Harborough’s newest housing developments will benefit from a Sainsbury’s convenience store after we secured a long-term lease for the national retailer.
Sainsbury’s will occupy a 4,458 sq ft unit on the Davidsons at Little Bowden development, where the Leicestershire housebuilder is building a collection of new homes on the town’s eastern edge.
This deal marks the second commercial unit we have negotiated for Sainsbury’s in Market Harborough, following the success of the store at Wellington Place, which opened at the end of 2025.
“Sainsbury’s has been well-received by local residents at Wellington Place so we are confident the retailer will enjoy similar success on this development,” explains Andrew McFarlane Holt, our Director. “This is one of three, brand new commercial units Davidsons is building at Little Bowden so confirming such a well-known brand as the anchor tenant not only sets a strong foundation but ensures this will become a real focal point,” adds Andrew.
Alongside the 15-year lease to Sainsbury’s, we are currently negotiating a long-term lease for the neighbouring 1,424 sq ft unit to be occupied by a café chain.
Andrew continues: “Well-positioned, energy efficient retail units like these are in high demand and with this significant long-term letting now confirmed, we expect the final available premises to let quickly. At 1,039 sq ft and self-contained, it would suit a variety of retailers, from a boutique clothing shop to wellness studio/salon to a crafty, artisanal producer. Interested tenants are encouraged to arrange viewings quickly,” concludes Andrew.
The trio of units at Davidsons at Little Bowden are under construction now and will be ready for occupancy in late summer/early autumn. We have been retained by Davidsons for property management.
