DOUBLE DEAL IN FLITWICK, BEDFORDSHIRE

30 November 2021

A parcel of land on the edge of the Bedfordshire town of Flitwick has been sold in a deal negotiated by our director, Andrew McFarlane Holt.

Acting on behalf of private clients based in Cornwall and Africa, 6.8 acres of amenity land at Dunstable Road sold significantly in excess of the guide price to strategic property developers. Comprising pasture, rough grazing and coppice, the site has road frontage and is in an edge of settlement location near the town’s cricket club.

A second site, representing approx. 19 acres to the south east of neighbouring Church Road, has been allocated out of the green belt for housing development. The land was placed under an option agreement a number of years ago, which we also negotiated. The housing developer is looking to start construction following a detailed planning application in 2022.

Andrew said: “Appetite for land of all types is extremely high at the moment, as illustrated by these two deals. Strategic land is much sought-after due to increasing pressures for housing stock and industrial uses. Landowners considering selling or who may not have realised the true potential of their assets are encouraged to get in touch.”
